Working With Images!

This Wednesday in Room 1, Koka Maria from Manaiakalani came into our class to teach us about google drawings and how to insert images, layer images and find images we were allowed to use. We learnt about png's and had to make a poster about whatever we wanted. My drawing is called 'Horse Land'. I hope you like it! If you do, remember to comment below. Thanks!

My Top Computer Tip

Last Thursday and Friday we had Mrs Ducky in our class and we had a task called a Digital Dig.
A Digital Dig is a task that we had about what we knew about our chromebooks. We had to find out the shortcuts and and what an address bar was. We also made a poster on google drawings and I'll put the image of mine below. My top tip for you is CTRL Z. Ctrl z undoes you last action on google slides, drawings, google docs, blogger and almost every other web site you can type on.

School Duathlon

LI: I am sharing some of my ideas, feelings and thoughts on my blog about the

     Duathlon  today!

Success Criteria:
  • It makes sense when I read it
  • I have used capital letters and full stops correctly
  • I have had my blogging buddy check my blog before I publish it
  • In the duathlon I came second.
  • I felt very nervous at the start.
  • I was in the middle when we left of but my strength is biking so I caught up.
  • In our duathlon we had to run, bike and run again.
  • I prefer to bike than run because I am stronger at the bike.

Before the duathlon started I felt very nervous because my year group is quite competitive and everyone is quite fast. Right now I feel really tired and proud, I'm really proud of myself for being better than before because last year I came sixth and I'm just really tired because we had to do 3 laps of our field for the first run, 2 laps of our reserve field for our bike and then 2 more laps running of our field to finish. My personal goal for this year was to be better than before, try my hardest on the run and bike with a can do attitude. I think the duathlon went really well for me I was very nervous but I was also really looking forward to the duathlon because I love biking, running and I am kind-of competitive. Sadly my dad didn't come until the end of my race because he lost track of time but still he saw me cross the finish line.
 PROUD!

The Explorer - Reading Wheel.

This week in room 1 we made reading wheels. We had to use our maths skills of rotation to figure out where the midpoint is, the diameter and radius and then we had an extra task to write about a full rotation (360°) a quarter turn (90°). Did you know that a 90 degree turn is also called a right angle? If you can't see what the maths on the circle says, I'll write it so you can understand.
Radius:  The radius is a straight line from the center to the edge of a circle.
Diameter: The diameter is any straight line going from one side of a circle to the other side.
On each sector we had to write or draw something about the book we were reading. I've been reading the Explorer by Katherine Rundell. On sector 1,3 and 5 we used illustrations on sector 2, 4 and 6 we wrote about our book. I hope you enjoy my photos of my wheel. Please leave a comment, if you like my work!
